生命之树路径 14金星

希伯来字母 · Daleth (ד) - Meaning: "Door"

画面与符号

女皇与丰饶、花草和成对的象征一起出现,表现生命的滋养与生长。

英文原文 · English source

The Empress is represented as a woman with an imperial crown and vestments, seated upon a throne. The uprights of her throne suggest blue, twisted flames, symbolic of her birth from water, the feminine, fluid element. Every aspect of her composition is a symbol of fertility, love, and the alchemical Salt:

  • The Posture of Salt (🜔): Her arms and torso are positioned to form the exact alchemical symbol for Salt (a circle divided by a horizontal line). She is the inactive principle of Nature, the matter which must be energized by Sulphur (The Emperor).
  • The Lotus of Isis: Held in her right hand. The lotus represents the feminine or passive power. Its roots are in the earth beneath the water, but it opens its petals to the Sun. In the card, its image is the belly of the chalice, a living form of the Holy Grail, sanctified by the blood of the Sun.
  • The Sparrow and the Dove: Her two most sacred birds, perching upon the flame-like uprights of her throne.
  • The Pelican: Featured in her heraldry on one side of the card. It is the Pelican of tradition, feeding its young from the blood of its own heart, identifying her with the Great Mother.
  • The White Eagle: Featured on the other side of her heraldry. The White Eagle of the Alchemist, corresponding to the Red Eagle in the Consort card, The Emperor.
  • The Bees and Dominos: Woven into her robe and surrounded by continuous spiral lines, signifying her omniform manifestation and endless fertility.
  • The Zodiac: Forming a glowing girdle about her waist.
  • The Floor of Tapestry: Beneath the throne, embroidered with fleurs-de-lys and fishes.
  • The Secret Rose: Indicated at the base of the throne, adored by the fishes and fleurs-de-lys.
  • Revolving Moons: Showing the necessary opposition required to balance the simplicity and purity of her emblem.
  • The Arch or Door: At the very back of the card is the Arch or Door, which is the literal interpretation of her Hebrew letter, Daleth. This indicates that the card, summed up, is the "Gate of Heaven."

秘传含义

对应金星与 Daleth,连接智慧和理解,是力量与形式之间的创造性结合。

英文原文 · English source

The Empress is the complement of The Emperor, but her attributions are much more universal. Her path (Daleth) connects the Father (Chokmah) with the Mother (Binah), uniting the two halves of the Supernal Triad above the Abyss. The fundamental doctrine implied by this card is that the formula of the Universe is Love.

She is the ultimate symbol of the Woman, and because of this, she continually recurs in infinitely varied forms ("Many-throned, many-minded, many-wiled, daughter of Zeus"). She combines the highest spiritual qualities with the lowest material qualities, acting as the alchemical Salt. She represents the continuity of life, an inheritance of blood that binds all forms of Nature together, showing there is no break between light and darkness (Natura non facit saltum).

荣格视角

象征母性、关系和创造力。健康的滋养使生命独立,阴影则是以爱为名的占有。

英文原文 · English source

The Empress is the supreme archetype of the Great Mother and the Eros Principle. While the High Priestess represents the unmanifested, virgin intuition of the unconscious, The Empress represents the fertile, nurturing, and realized manifestation of the Anima in the physical world.

The symbol of the Pelican feeding its young with its own blood illustrates the psychological capacity for unconditional nurturing and the life-giving nature of the maternal instinct. The alchemical Salt represents the ego's ability to ground the fleeting inspirations of the spirit (Sulphur/Fire) into stable, tangible reality. Psychologically, encountering The Empress signifies a need to connect with the body, to cultivate beauty, and to recognize that the physical world is not a prison for the spirit, but the very vessel through which the spirit achieves its ultimate purpose. It is the psychological drive to create, not merely through intellect, but through embodied Love.

The Hebrew letter Daleth, meaning "Door," identifies the Empress as the gateway between the abstract and the concrete, the spiritual and the material. In Jungian terms, she is the door through which archetypal contents of the unconscious pass into lived experience. Every creative act — bearing a child, making art, building a home, cultivating a garden — is an act of passing through the Door. She is also the door in the other direction: through her, through the body and the senses, the individual can re-enter the sacred. The Empress teaches that matter is not the opposite of spirit but its most intimate expression.

Venus, her planetary ruler, is the archetype of relatedness — the psychic function that draws things together, that finds beauty in connection and meaning in pleasure. In Jungian psychology, Venus corresponds to the Eros principle: the binding force that unites opposites, creates relationships, and generates new life from the union. Where the Magus (Mercury) divides and categorizes, Venus synthesizes and embraces. But Venus also carries a shadow: the seduction of comfort, the tendency to value harmony so highly that necessary conflict is avoided, and the risk of losing oneself in sensual pleasure.

Path 14, connecting Chokmah (the Father, Wisdom) to Binah (the Mother, Understanding), makes the Empress the living bridge between the masculine and feminine principles at the highest level of the Tree. She is not merely one half of the pair — she is the relationship between them, the love that makes their union fertile. Psychologically, this path represents the integration of the Animus and Anima within the Supernal realm: the recognition that masculine and feminine are not opposites to be balanced but lovers whose embrace generates all of creation.
