The number Ten (Malkuth) as always represents the final issue of the Energy. Here is great and final solidification. The force is completely expended and results in death.
- The Coins on the Tree of Life: The disks — or as they have now become, coins — are arranged on the Tree of Life. But the magical whirling energy of the Ace has been completely exhausted; what remains is inert, heavy, accumulated stuff.
- The Promise of Renewal: Mercury rules this card in Virgo, and this may imply that the acquired wealth, being inert, will be dissipated unless put to further use by devoting its power to objects other than mere accumulation.

The Ten of Disks is called Wealth. The force is completely expended and results in death. Mercury rules this card in Virgo, and this may imply that the acquired wealth, being inert, will be dissipated unless put to further use by devoting its power to objects other than mere accumulation.
As the very last of all the pip cards, the Ten of Disks represents the absolute completion of the entire cycle of manifestation that began with the Ace of Wands. The energy has descended through all four elements, through all ten Sephiroth, and has finally come to rest in the most material form possible. The only movement from here is the return to the beginning — the Fool stepping off the cliff into a new cycle.

The Ten of Disks represents the archetype of Completed Manifestation — the absolute end-point of the material cycle, where all creative energy has been fully expressed, fully materialized, and fully spent. It is Wealth in the most literal sense: accumulated material substance that has been organized into the complete pattern of the Tree of Life — every Sephirah accounted for, every position filled.
In Jungian terms, this is the sensation function at its terminal expression: the material world fully mapped, fully organized, and fully inert. The coins on the Tree of Life show that the entire architecture of manifestation is present in material form — but the life has gone out of it. The whirling Disks have become static coins; the living energy has become dead capital. This is the psychological state of the individual whose material life is complete and abundant but who senses, beneath the surface of prosperity, the emptiness of accumulation without purpose.
As the Malkuth (Kingdom) card of the Disks suit — and the very last pip card in the entire Tarot — the Ten of Disks represents the absolute bottom of the descent from Spirit into Matter. In Jungian terms, Malkuth in Earth is matter reflecting upon itself: the material world become self-aware, recognizing its own completeness and, in that recognition, sensing the stirring of something beyond itself. The Princess of Disks (the last Court Card) was on the brink of transfiguration; the Ten of Disks is the material wealth that makes that transfiguration possible — or, if hoarded rather than invested, makes it impossible.
Mercury in Virgo — Mercury ruling and exalted in his own sign — is the most intellectually productive configuration for practical matters. In Jungian terms, this gives the Ten its quality of intelligent accumulation: the wealth depicted is not accidental but the product of sustained, methodical, brilliant management. Mercury's double presence also provides the key to the card's redemption: the wealth must be communicated, circulated, put to use — "devoted to objects other than mere accumulation" — or it will stagnate and dissipate. The intelligence that created the wealth must now be applied to the question of what the wealth is for.
The Ten of Disks in psychological work signals the completion of a material cycle — genuine abundance that now demands a new purpose. The question is no longer "how do I acquire?" but "what is it for?" The answer to that question initiates a new cycle, returning the energy to the Ace — the whirling, living seed of a new beginning.
