画面与符号

圆盘二 · 变化以圆盘的视觉符号表现“变化”的主题。圆盘对应土,关注身体、资源与现实工作。牌面的具体几何、颜色与符号可在下方英文原文中逐项核对。

英文原文 · English source

The number Two (Chokmah) here rules in the suit pertaining to Earth. It shows the type of Energy appropriate to Two in its most fixed form. According to the doctrine that Change is the support of stability, the card is called Change.

  • The Two Yin-Yang Pantacles: The card represents two Pantacles, one above the other — Chinese symbols of the Yang and Yin, duplicated as in the Hsiang. One wheel is dextro- and the other laevo-rotatory. They represent the harmonious interplay of the Four Elements in constant movement.
  • The Green Serpent of Infinity: About them is entwined a green Serpent. His tail is in his mouth. He forms the figure Eight — the symbol of the Infinite, the equation 0=2.

秘传含义

二号牌呈现力量最初的分化与方向。占星归属为 ♃ 木星 in ♑ 摩羯座。主题“变化”描述的是这一力量的状态,不应被简化为固定的好坏结论。

英文原文 · English source

The Two of Disks is called Change. Its celestial rulers are Jupiter and Capricorn, and these symbols are most inharmonious, so that in practical matters the good fortune of Jupiter is very limited. Yet Jupiter, being himself the Wheel (Atu X), emphasizes that idea.

One may consider the card as the picture of the complete manifested Universe in respect of its dynamics. The serpent forming the figure Eight — the lemniscate of infinity — shows that the stability of the material world depends entirely upon its continuous, rhythmic change.

英文原文 · English source

The Two of Disks represents the archetype of Dynamic Equilibrium — the psychological recognition that stability in the material world is achieved not through rigidity but through continuous, rhythmic change. It is the opposite of what the Ego naturally expects from Earth: not solid ground but a dancing surface that maintains its coherence precisely because it never stops moving.

In Jungian terms, the Two of Disks is the sensation function in its first conscious expression — the awareness that the body, the material world, and all physical structures are not fixed but in constant transformation. The yin-yang pantacles, spinning in opposite directions, show the fundamental principle: every material condition contains within it the seed of its opposite, and stability is maintained only by the continuous oscillation between them.

As the Chokmah (Wisdom) card of the Disks suit, the Two represents the first real manifestation of Earth — the moment when the abstract potential for material experience (the Ace) crystallizes into a definite, observable pattern. In Jungian terms, Chokmah in Earth is the first perception of the physical world as an organized system — the recognition of rhythm, cycle, and pattern in what initially appears to be chaotic matter. The serpent forming the lemniscate (figure eight, symbol of infinity) shows that this pattern is self-sustaining and endless: the material world perpetuates itself through change, just as the body perpetuates itself through the constant replacement of its cells.

Jupiter in Capricorn is Jupiter in his "fall" — the planet of expansion and good fortune operating through the sign of restriction, limitation, and material ambition. In Jungian terms, this combination produces a chastened optimism: the recognition that good fortune in material matters is not unlimited but must be worked for within the constraints of reality. Jupiter's natural abundance is disciplined by Capricorn's sobriety, producing not the lavish generosity of Jupiter in Pisces but the measured, strategic investment of resources. The inharmony of the configuration is itself the point: change, in the material world, is never comfortable or smooth — it involves friction, tension, and the constant negotiation between expansion and contraction.

The Two of Disks in psychological work signals a period of necessary change in material circumstances — the recognition that clinging to stability is itself the greatest threat to stability, and that the only way to keep one's footing is to keep moving.
